2014 Top247

There were two new five-star prospects added to the 2014 list- cornerback Tony Brown (Beaumont, Texas/Ozen) and quarterback Keller Chryst (Palo Alto, Calif.). Our 247Sports analysts have seen both in person and on film this past spring and summer and were comfortable with those two prospects rising to the highest star status.

National Scouting Director Gerry Hamilton on Brown...

"Brown is a terrific athlete than more than excelled on the summer camp circuit and in various national 7-on-7 tournaments. Physically, he is a legit 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds of strength, power and explosive ability. At corner, he loves to press and the more physical the game, the better. While he relishes press coverage and the physical aspect of football, he has proven to have the ability to stay attached, get his head around and make plays on the ball. Brown already has offers from the likes of LSU, Alabama, Texas A&M, Texas and a number of others."

Hamilton on Chryst...

"Everything about Keller Chryst oozes natural quarterback. While he has been really well coached as expected by those in his family tree, he has a feel and command about him that is natural. As a passer, he can make every throw and has shown he ability to change ball speeds and trajectory extremely well for his age and experience level. Just as impressive is his willingness to stand tall in the pocket, step into a throw knowing he is going to take a hit and deliver passes with accuracy."
