I understand Tuey. I was once a 5 star poster. I guess people didn't get my humor or thought I was being too sarcastic. It has really taken an emotional toll on me. I don't post the same. Food doesn't taste the same. All I can think about is that 1 star that's been taken from me. Yesterday when I got done making love to the gf, I said "4 stars or 5, baby?" She said 5 but I could tell she was just trying to make me feel better.

I thnk I was drinkin a 40 of OE in my projects parking lot. I enjoyed the second halff but I played and coach ball. I see lil thngs tht might be overlooked by others. For ex. Jonte do not go to the basket with authority on the left side. So the pick and roll with him on tht side is nt as strng whn its done on the right. So I say to myself y run tht play on tht side when for the most part he nt goin to drive. Wht im sayin is I always see thngs we can improve on. Even if we win

teven jones yesterday. Jones played in a national prep tournament recently and i was told he did not have a good tournament. the person who shared this with me said he saw two games he played and one of them was against brewster academy. he said they are loaded and destroyed teven and his team. he said teven is quick but was overmatch and played a ltitlle timid. he think he scored in double figures but my guy was not impressed. to be honest unless a kid is swinging upside down and dunking my guy is never impressed.LOL. i think this is important because teven need to at least give us back up minutes at the point next year. everybody have bad games so this one assesment wont make me judge his game. i was thinking. a lot of teams are signing grad students for one year from other ncaa teams. maybe there is a point guard out there in the ncaa that can transfer as a grad student and play for us one year. i love the kid from illinois. point guard play and low post scoring is going to determine if we stay on top of the acc or drop back down to the middle. right now i dont think we have either. a top point guard or a low post scorer. time will tell

Here's what seems to be undisputed about Teven Jones: (1) He has a very smooth outside shot with a quick release; (2) He is very fast and athletic; and (3) He is a born leader. Take a look at any of the clips/game film on the internet and read the comments from his coach(es), and you will see this.
Here's what's also undisputed about Teven: (1) He's relatively new to being a full-time basketball player, and (2) He's VERY new to the point guard position. Sure, Teven played basketball in HS, but he was primarily thought of as (very good) football player who played basketball in the football offseason. In other words, he's not your typical AAU player. Also, he played SG in HS and is playing PG for the first time at Fishburne.
The reason he's playing PG is that Ed Huckaby (and TB, and other coaches such as Brownell) saw him over the summer and saw that he had leadership and court vision. That said, while it seems like he has the innate ability to be a great PG, he's still understandably raw. He's putting the pieces together. His handle is good but can (and I think will) improve. He needs to flatten out his passes a bit and deliver them with a bit more zip. He needs to work on his defense, his off-the-ball defense in particular.
But the bottom line is that he has all the tools to be a very good to great PG, and everyone seems to characterize him as a hard worker. After his year at Fishburne and after working with TB and Mike Curtis for a year, I think we'll see a very solid PG. By his 3rd and 4th years, he could be great.

It is my habit to ignore Tug's posts because when he trashes our own guys, such as calling Harris and Harrell scrubs, it gets me excited and I don't really need that.
However, since this thread has blown up I thought I'd investigate. I am not commenting on his post as positive or negative and I'm not downvoting or upvoting him on this, but I did think it fair to provide a little background and research:
Here is the description from the Brewster Academy website:
Brewster defeated Fishburne Military (VA) 91-75 at the National Prep Showcase. Brewster was led by NC State-bound TJ Warren (Raleigh, NC) with 22 points, while unsigned forward JaKarr Sampson (Barberton, OH) contributed 20 points and 7 rebounds. Future Xavier point guard Semaj Christon (Cincinnati, OH) added 17 points and 5 assists, while fellow Cincinnati native and Florida State-signee Aaron Thomas had 11 points. Xavier-signee Jalen Reynolds (Livonia, MI) and Michigan-bound Mitch McGary (Porter, IN) combined for 19 points and 12 rebounds in the contest.
As you can read, Brewster is absolutely loaded with high level prospects. Mitch McGary is the same that was being raved about by the analysts during our game with Michigan the other night.
I never expressed my feelings on the signing of Teven Jones and I'm not going to now, but it shouldn't be a surprise that he struggled against that level of competition. You could build the core of a darn good college team from the Brewster roster.
