Mayberry to Miss Remainder of Season with Injury
Junior right-hander had surgery Tuesday morning
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Whit Mayberry (Alexandria, Va.), a junior right-handed pitcher on the Virginia baseball team, will miss the remainder of the 2012 season because of an injury. Mayberry had Tommy John surgery to repair a torn UCL in his right elbow on Tuesday morning.
Mayberry went 2-0 with a 3.67 earned run average in five starts this season.

This means Whit will likely be back for the 2013 season, but it is a tough injury to bounce back from. Mike Ballard and Jeff Kamrath did a great job, but this is a tough break for a great kid.

Crockett was used tonight so that he could get some extended work. He has just not pitched enough to this point. Rough first inning but the lefty settled in to pile up pitches as he went four innings. It was a positive outing for a critical piece of the staff moving forward.
