I read on Rivals.. Arky fans say that bud to Arky have never been discussed.

My guess would be Weaver(AD) stepping down.

No way Bud goes to Arkansas - they've got to hire a coach without any inkling of a chance to have bad press surround him. Bud does not fit that criteria.

They will acknowledge that VT does not have an athletic department but only a football team.

Pud would probably have to fight off several contenders just to get the Arky State gig. That being said I wish we could somehow land a great coordinator that no one else wanted. Pud at VT is a perfect storm.

Logic says it's Weaver. He's been in bad health for sometime. Guessing this will be the end for Seth. He's done a lot to resurrect a dormant b-ball program but seems to have worn out his welcome with players and coaches recently. Close to undoing what he's already accomplished.

A new AD would want his own guy (and rightfully so). Seth doesn't have the personality to be a "lame duck." My guess is they would part ways fast.

But who knows? Just speculation at this point. We'll soon see.

Well Jeff Long would fit right in at VT after his previous head FB coach hire. There was certainly enough prior smoke surrounding Petrino to put any reasonable person on guard.

Seeing some smoke about Goonburg getting the axe.

I'm happy to see him go, but not happy to see VT b-ball mediocrity go with it.

Who the hell are they going to get that will be better? Its not a good job to begin with and now its pretty late in terms of the coaching carousel. And lets be real, mediocrity is good for VT, they should be at the bottom of the conference every year.
