In the FSU portion of the 3rd, Virginia junior Scott Silverstein walked the lead-off batter for the second straight inning, but got a pop to short for the first out, a fly to right for the second out and fanned Stephen McGee for the final out.
Silverstein is nearing 60 pitches and has allowed just two hits, but has played with fire by walking Seminole batters

AFTER 4: Virginia 3, Florida State 3

Virginia has been the top fielding team in the ACC since 2004, but the Cavaliers boot the ball twice in the fourth to help the Seminoles score three runs. Taylor booted a grounder that would have been a double play and with the bases loaded Stephen Bruno had a grounder kick off his foot and shoot into the outfield grass.

Headed to the 5th.

Oh my gosh. After seeing FSU's lineup, I'm pretty sure they have maintained the same lineup for the past 5 years.

It was close. But it was horrible baserunning nonetheless.

FSU scores a pair after Coach Oak brings in Shane Halley from the bullpen. Halley gets out of the jam to send the game to the 6th, but Virginia trails 5-3 now. Once again, Silverstein had control issues in the frame.

I can't watch it anymore. It's too hard to watch such a young team make such fatal errors. I'd rather enjoy my Saturday night than go through the mental trauma that goes with watching UVA sports.

Austin Young looked amazing in relief. Using off-speed pitches, the sophomore (sorry I said rookie) stranded three on base. The game is headed to the seventh inning with FSU leading 6-3.

FSU power hitter James Ramsey blasts a 3-run homer to left-center field to give the Seminoles a 9-3 lead. Austin Young was in that situation because he allowed a two-out walk with a runner at second. Ramsey is one of the top 10 hitters in the ACC.

In what looks like a game in the 2010 ACC Tourney, FSU reliever Hunter Scantling is powering through this game. Virginia went quickly in the 8th as FSU saves the bullpen by leaving a pitcher that looks like Livan Hernandez in the game.
The Cavaliers will bring Nathan Abel, a lefty, in for the 8th. I would guess that this is only the second weekend trip in the career of Abel. i never saw him on the road last year.

Virginia is retired in order in the ninth, ending a painful game for the Cavaliers. Virginia will need to the win the final two games in the series to win its fourth straight series over the Seminoles.
Coach Oak will send RHP Artie Lewicki to the mound on Sunday and told Wahoos247 that there is a possibility that RHP Whit Mayberry could pitch in relief on Sunday or Monday. The rotation was altered, removing Mayberry after the junior had some minor arm soreness.
