His head and neck hit noltes knee and he immediately fell to the ground. Freak play. Hope he is ok.

After the initial contact, his head went into Nolte's hip and extended at an awkward angle. It didn't look that bad on replay but it was awkward looking

Yeah, it definitely could be one of those things where the awkward glancing blow hurts worse than the direct hit. He did not move on the way out and it looked like his eyes were closed too.
