North Carolina came alive in the second half offensively to race past UVa for a 93-81 win in Chapel Hill on Saturday.

  • The team shot well today but was very sloppy. Mitchell looked like he had baby oil on his hands in the post and Evans was careless with the ball in the first half. Not terribly disappointed. I knew it would be tough especially in Chapel Hill (for many reasons). 6 Games to go. Win against GT, BC, Maryland and then win one of FlSt, Duke, Miami and we're in.

  • UNC played the perimeter tough and ignored our inside game and driving ability. Mike Tobey would have scored 20 points inside against this defense. He was sorely missed. Typical UNC refs. All you had to see was the foul against Joe when he stole the pass and was grabbed by the UNC player to prevent a fastbreak. Unbelievable call. Equally bad was the call against Mitchell when McAdoo extended one arm and pushed him into the corner.

TB is going to have to learn to fight for his team on the road to get more even handed treatment from the refs.

Did anybody else notice during the UNC-DUKE game how quiet both coaches were? How are you going to argue with the refs when both of the ACC'sgolden boys are on the court at the same time. The refs must be terribly conflicted during those games.

  • Was it UNC's offense or our defense? This game reminded me of the Florida game last year where we seemed to have no answers for their playmakers. Scoring 81 points is great, but allowing 93 is very bad.
