  • ND should put their money where their mouth is and join 100%. If they truly want to keep the ACC, they need to join us in FB; full-time.

  • Haha, Clemson's president isn't even a PhD. He's probably not even an egghead.

  • Great move by the presidents, the TV revenue bubble is gonna burst at some point, ratings were even down 15% for SEC football this year. All these schools that joined a conference where the travel eats up alot of the athletic budget will be the ones scrambling.

Clemson has a unique and intense method for selecting school president. It requires character, fortitude, endurance, and balanced thought.

It is very much like the Decathalon or an Iron Man contest in that it requires someone who can perform a number of requirements at a very high level.

They gather the most gifted candidates and have them compete with each other in three critical aspects of Clemson University life:

    1) tobacco spitting distance and accuracy (contestants often hire hokies as coaches)

    2) cow tipping on roller skates

    3) beer chugging while getting a wedgy

The overall points winner of these contests gets to be President as he best displays the kind of education received at Clemson.

  • Interesting move. I hope this holds and there is backbone behind those signatures. I guess Maryland was such a dumpster fire they couldn't have signed that if they'd wanted to. That's okay, it will be fun to watch them get pummelled in the B1G. Maryland was already trashy but this is just the dog pissing on the trash.

  • Don't know how they can say it any stronger than that. Good for them.

Yea, pretty strong statement. Swofford is earning his pay navigating these waters. He has been criticized aplenty. If the ACC holds its ground in the end he will deserve much of the credit.

In my humble opinion I believe the Louisville commitment is a real upgrade for the ACC over the twerps and will be looked back upon one day as a very strategic move by Swofford. We will enjoy what Louisville brings to the league, and unlike Maryland their fans are rabid about football as well as basketball. They travel and are committed enough to football to make Charlie Strong one of the highest, if not THE highest paid coaches in college football. Lastly the ACC is, and has been, the dream destination for Louisville fans for many years. A "player" who "wants to be on the team".

  • At least you didn't counterpoint your original post, then you would be arguing with yourself, which might raise some concerns.

Werent they trying to go to the B1G last year? They wanted to leave the BE period.

It was the Big 12 they were chasing. The same way Cincy was making a case to the ACC to pick them over Louisville, Louisville was doing with the Big 12 to try and be picked over WVU.
