Request for Jamie

  • Too many threads are devolving into hokies talking trash with hoos. I've enjoyed 247 because it's a place UVA fans can gather and discuss without being interrupted by hokie garbage. I have no problem with seeing hokies on the board, but the moment they start saying anything bad about the wahoos, they've overstayed their welcome. I kindly ask that you please put a stop to this.

  • Somewhat along those lines, I think that we hoo fans need not bash every Hokie just for who they are. Some of these half wits deserve it. But, there have been a lot of threads started about them. Perhaps we should use a little restraint so as not every thread devolves into what we have been seeing.

    I agree with you completely. It's only natural for both sides to bicker, but some take it too far. The tough thing is, Jamie already does a ton for this site and him having to monitor that is too much. As you said, people should restrain themseleves.

    VT_fan90 (I think) has been nice to have over here to be honest, and I wish more of their fans could be like that.

    I hope that Jamie doesnt finally get tired of the complaining one day and pull the plug on us and move on to bigger and better things!! Constant nagging about non members posting on our site will def make that decision much easier for him.

    Post as premium, that helps.

    Our message board model is one that the company is very excited about. I love it too. People can post as premium or free. All fans in the same spot and it opens the doors for other fanbases to join the free discussion.

    Yes, that means rival schools can post in free threads.

    There are going to be knuckleheads. I've seen more knucklehead posts from this site's members on VTScoop than I've seen from VTScoop members here.

    I'm not going to ban anyone with a VT screenname just for the sake of banning people.

    It's not about how thick anyone's skin is. It's more about creating a worthy forum of discussion for UVA fans. Hokies fans with too much freedom will quickly destroy the integrity of a good thing. We've seen it happen before.

    Definitely true, but you also can't freak out if one thread every blue moon slides into that crapper. You just need to stay away because it's too radioactive, or dive in and toss feces with the rest of us.

    Jamie will handle it. But he can't be expected to patrol this board... sorry for this... 24/7. Sometimes, we're going to have to police our own board.

    In a few short months this place has become infested with the beginnings of Hokie Scoop. All I have to say. Not saying that JO hasn't done his job...I'd just like to have one forum where I don't have to see one of them period.

    "Infested" is going a bit overboard, considering I've only had issue with two posters since VTScoop came online. Prior to that, there were more than 30 bans of posters that were trolling with a VT screenname.

    I'm not going to be able to make everyone happy and for that, I apologize. I'll continue to monitor the board, as best as I can and eliminate as needed.

    Again its not a slight to you JO. I frequent your boards every day and I know you do your best to keep it the way it was when you first came over...I'm not going to be naive and say that I always thought it would be that way, nor that I never thought a VT site would come on board. Just don't like that it was this quick.

    I think for someone to downvote my honest opinion when I am always trying to be positive and make this board better is just as overboard as me calling it infested.
