There will be a host of positions on UVa’s defense that will welcome new starters to the fold in 2012. Head coach Mike London told Wahoos247 that three spots appear settled.

Wow Whats up with Phelps? I thought he was shoe in for corner at some point. That may never happen because he is in same class as Nicholson and Hoskey. Hoskey I like but he must really show something in practice to be determined starter with making basicly one play in his career so far.

You are right that the third corner plays but that is a not starting. I am sure the goal is starting especially for a player of the year 4 star prospect choosing UVA. I am just surprised it was not stated as an open competition at the position. The article sounded pretty certain barring as you said a great spring and fall by Phelps.

Sometimes it seems like players have been on the team forever (Taliaferro seemed like he was on the team for 8 years) but Will Hill is a senior? Geez, doesn't seem like he's been here but a year or two.
