  • This could be a case of reading into it too much, especially because its twitter. So you can take it for what you will.

  • Would not be wise for him to leave yet, he is not quite ready...

I seem to remember a de-cavs post for a while back that said Mo is staying. The family realizes that he needs another year to develop. Of course, this could change- just saying what I remember from de-cavs

  • There's been some rumbling. It was definitely NOT for certain. Seems like he's made his choice and I think the right one. He would be leaving A LOT of money on the table if he left now.

I think another year of work could make him a first rounder, maybe a high first rounder. He needs to learn to handle speed pass rushers better to be able to play left tackle in the pros, and left tackle is where the big money is.

  • Morgan Moses is one of my favorite stories at UVa in a long time. Maybe ever. I only wish the best for him, and based on his loyalty to UVa and incredible perserverence thusfar, I will never allow my bias to UVa football cloud what I think is really best for him. No that I matter one iota, but in the context of these message boards....

In some ways, I almost wish he could go pro now, and the story could end hapily: he will in one year earn more money than his family has ever dreamed of seeing, even if he is not a first or second round pick.

But I do not think that is what is best for him from my uninformed seat: Al Groh once said making the NFL is not the hardest thing, staying in the NFL is. I think this applies to MM as much as any prospect I can remember in recent history. His size and athletic agility will get him drafted and signed somewhere, but NFL teams will not give him more than a year, max two to actually show that those things can translate to production. And on the production meter, MM is doing well at UVa, but not incredibly. If I had to rate his two years, he outperformed year 1, but hit a more modest trajectory year 2. He was the third best OL on the unit this year. Right now, he is a third or fourth rounder on potential, likely an undrafted free agent on performance. Another year at UVa will help bridge that gap and raise the ceiling.

And then there is the degree. Moses' handliers were incredibly ambitious for him by guiding him to UVa. Assuming his grades have held the last 12 months, he is closing in on an incredible achievement. Even if he does leave early, one year more will get him within realistic distance of landing that degree eventually after or during his NFL days.

  • I saw that post too. He's been right about everything he's said in reguards to Moses too so I see no need to doubt him.
