bbb, there are more pressing matters for the football team relating to special teams and the secondary instead of debating religion. We will all have to agree to disagree. There are no answers that is going to satisfy you and everybody of this board. No sense in hashing this topic out. Those are want to recite The Lord's Prayer before the game can and those who don't, doesn't have to. Let's leave it at that.

I was raised Southern Baptist and when I was living as a born again believer few things riled me up like people wanting to stop prayer in public places simply to be PC or whatever.
Now I'm no longer a theist, and there's a little part of me that isn't fully rational that cringes when I see the entire team being led in the Lord's prayer, so I understand your concern on this.
That said, I will say this: Mike London has no obligation to hide his faith to make sure everyone on the team is comfortable. In fact I would hate to be a part of a team where my coach or my fellow players weren't free to be true to their convictions, nor would I want to fight in the trenches next to guys who didn't have the courage to express the truth as they understand it.
If someone is of another mindset, they can prepare in their own way and just hold their brothers' hand and respect their faith. If Oday Aboushi wants to do another prayer, no one on the team is gonna say boo to him, and I doubt Oday would say London has made him or any others on the team who aren't Christians feel unwelcome in any way.
Ultimately the responsibility for expressing convictions falls on each individual. If someone isn't a believer they have as much a right to stand up and say it as Mike or a player does to proclaim Jesus their Lord and Savior... and I hope our team is made of guys willing to have that kind of integrity. I just think those on the team who are brothers in Christ make up a majority, and that's likely to be the case as London will be attractive to recruits who are seeking a coach who will also be a sound Christian mentor. And I'm 100% cool with that, as a nonbeliever.
