Jontel Evans named to All-ACC Defensive Team ...

  • LEWISVILLE, NC -- Miami’s Shane Larkin, who led the Hurricanes to their first outright ACC regular season championship, is the leading vote-getter for the ACC’s All-Defensive Team, as determined by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association (ACSMA).

Larkin, whose 32 steals in ACC games leads the league, appeared on 46 of 77 ballots cast by ACSMA members. He’s joined on the team by Georgia Tech’s Daniel Miller (37 votes), who averages 6.7 rebounds per game and leads the ACC with 62 blocks.

Also making the All-Defensive Team are: Miami’s Durand Scott (36 votes), who is tied for second in steals in ACC games; Maryland’s Alex Len (35 votes), who is third in overall blocked shots; and Virginia’s Jontel Evans (33 votes).

  • Well deserved! He sets the tone for the best defensive team in the ACC!

  • Alex Len?! Did they watch our big men school him yesterday? Akil is 10 times the post defender he is.

That guy has to be the most overrated player in history. Lottery pick, my ass.

  • Awesome news for Bub. Especially considering how many games he missed and wasn't 100%, this is a ton of respect for his defense. Wahoowa!

I don't care what this says. The ONLY 1st team that Len should be on is future NBA draft busts. I have never seen a worse 7 footer with more hype than this pansy. This is what I picture in my head when I see Alex Len.

LOL, true. If he is a lottery pick we won't have Tobey long.

  • Congrats to Bub. TB's commentary about Evans today is all one needs to know about his value to this team and program. If the current freshmen and incoming players work as hard and get as much out of their natural talent then this program will have a very high ceiling.
