Jennings is ready to step up

Darius Jennings was one of two true freshmen to see time in UVa's wide receiving corps last season. With the graduation of Kris Burd, big things are expected of Jennings.

So I hope that linked directly to Jennings 53 yd TD against Miami, if not it is on the right panel of the site.

  • Not going to try to hold back... I am PUMPED about the speed and athletic ability of Jennings, Smith, and Terrell. I cannot recall a time when we ever had that much speed in tbe receiving corps. Swing PJ out of Tge backfield and toss in a big TE with speed....I think Lazor us going to shine this year!

  • Is it just me, or have these been the most positive spring updates we've had in a decade or more? It seemed every year we were breaking in a new QB, wondering who was going to step up and be a play maker on offense or defense. Even with the secondary being the "question mark" coming into the spring, THEY have had rave reviews so far. I'm struggling to remember such an optimistic spring that wasn't just based on potential, but instead seeing things like "The QB's are performing well, the line is athletic and solid, the RBs are evasive, WRs are fast, DL is aggressive, LBs are playmakers and secondary hits hard."

Oops, forgot about the kicking game. Come on boys! Wahoowa!

Well, get ready for more Ol Chap. Watching the practice videos, and I know they're breif, but seeing Lambert in them has me stoked. I just have a hunch/feeling, whatever it is, that this kid will play on Sundays when he's done playing on Saturdays for us. Mike London was definitely the right guy for the job. His passion, and genuineness just exude from every video I've ever seen of him. I think, with ML we will go above and beyond any of the heights, or "ceilings" we've had placed on us.

  • Using a basketball analogy, I think having our young secondary grow up practicing against that type of speed will really help them develop and pay dividends on game day vs. FSU, Miami, etc.
