I think it has been a little different here because we recruited six players in one class to fill the roster. Each one of them probably committed in part because they saw immediate playing time. (There were even some posters talking about parallels to the Fab 5 at Michigan when we signed these guys.) KTH and JJ weren't going to see the floor much this year, and they got impatient.
In the future, recruits are going to be able to see who's ahead of them and make a more informed decision about why or why not they want to come here. I would be surprised if we lose more than one player every couple of years once Tony gets this team where he wants it to be.

How can you say Johnson expected immediate playing time when he approached Bennett requesting to redshirt?

I am very bothered by it. I felt confident that with time Johnson would be a good player for us. He's certainly no worse than Sene was his first year. I don't understand the lack of patience on his part or whether there's more to the story.
However, all we can do is wish him the best wherever he ends up.
I don't have any answers for it, whether it is just "one of those things" or whether it is something to be concerned about. We're going to have to be able to keep players on the squad who aren't getting immediate playing time. We'll just have to see what unfolds over time.

Any of you who think Johnson was gonna be good, how about backing up your opinion with any observations. I'm 69 years old an 5'11' and i bet i could beat him one on one tomorrow.
