Milikin has committed to UVA for lax.

Seems like a reach on the lacrosse end of things (2nd team midfield in the Prep League is hardly an endorsement for top-flight D-1), but Dom likes big athletes so who knows.

That was his sophomore season. The kid is only a junior.

Yeah, and to be fair Woodberry kids usually develop later because many of them dont come from a lacrosse background prior to arriving in the 9th grade. He sounds like an amazing athlete. I was just thinking about the kids from VA who have played and/or contributed at UVA in the last 15 years or so and when you consider guys like Drew Mcknight, Ben O'Neil, Ryan Kelly, Mike Timms, Bud Petit, Mikey Thompson.....those guys were much more highly regarded/decorated as HS sophs than just 2nd team midfield on a mediocre team. But, as you and I have both noted there are some mitigating circumstances in Millikins case. Also, the sport has changed and a guy who is a real stud athlete but maybe a raw lacrosse player can definitely find a home in D1 lacrosse. Particularly with good coaching.
Anyway, it was probably a little harsh of me to call him a reach, although on paper it could be interpreted that way....

The other thing is that the recruiting cycle has been so accelerated. Most guys now are committed somewhere before the start of their junior year. Its way too early in my opinion. Not good for anyone involved, but I don't know how you fix it.
