It is looking more and more like Miami might slip out of serious penalties for MAJOR violations due to the incompetency of the NCAA. Here is a school that allowed a convicted Ponzi schemer and significant booster to run amok in the program providing cash payments to players, lavish parties in South Beach and general run of strip-clubs on his tab. Said Ponzi schemer then turned to program whistle-blower and provided the NCAA every detail on a silver platter. Additionally, they have ex-coaches accused of new violations every day it seems. Yet, the NCAA has taken two years to investigate and now might have blown the whole thing on a "improper search" technicality.
And don't even get me started on UNCheat, where it was obvious that the University sanctioned an entire academic department to support their sports programs by systematically allowing student-athletes to cruise through on bogus courses. Of course, the fact that a few "regular" students figured how to cruise through college on the same coat tails made it alright in the NCAA's mind. And naturally we can't forget one of their Assistant coaches was an agent-broker providing high-end junkets around the country and the Head Coach's nanny was doing term papers for players. Yeah, let's just let them determine their own sanctions for those mild transgressions...
FIFA though I hold both at similar levels of contempt and disdain.
Other than vpi? Probably not.
