  • I hope Franklin stays put. He could be a real thorn in our sides for recruiting.

  • at this pioint i feel like nc state is almost a lateral move for him, Vandy is on the rise but would be tough to ever truly compete at. I

  • Has the early recruiting success that Gottfried has and the high expectations for the basketball team made State think they can do the same in football with a coaching switch?

NC State fans don't think so. They think TOB hit his ceiling a long time ago, which is 7 wins and a third-tier bowl.

The idea of Gundy leaving Oklahoma State - his alma mater and a place that can pay him whatever he wants by making a phone call to T. Boone Pickens - is semi-laughable when we're talking about mid-level SEC programs like Arkansas.

    Hey M&B...

How is Hoke perceived by the Michigan fans?

Exceedingly well. 11-2 seasons and beating Ohio State right from the get-go have a way of earning a lot of goodwill. There's a section of the fanbase that considers themselves very blue-blooded and they consider Hoke a branch of the Bo tree, i.e., "one of us." With Hoke onboard at U-M, Michigan and UVA now have very similar coaches in both football and basketball.

Thanks M&B... I know he is killing it on the recruiting trail...

Amazing. Clearly I have a downvote stalker who's too chickenshit to reveal himself. There's no other explanation for downvoting a perfectly benign post that was an answer to a perfectly legitimate question.

Actually - I would LOVE to see Chip Kelly in the NFL. If his approach worked, you can bet every other team would adopt his strategies.

I've watched Oregon as much as possible this season and its the most entertaining football I've ever seen. I was really, really disappointed that Alabama lost; I wanted to see that matchup. If A&M's offense gave 'Bama's D problems, I would have loved to see what Oregon would have done to them. Mainly, b/c i'm just tired of SEC arrogance.

Covered.... I definitely have my detractors on this board....

The old guard and their backward 1940's "SITDOWN IN FRONT, I CAN'T SEE THE GAME" mentality...

  • rumors are rumors.
here are my thoughts (on no source).
Gundy ain't leaving his alma mater. He has the respect of their AD and their most influential booster in BoonePickens. Unless Boone is shouting in his ear on how to run the program after every loss then I see zero reason why Gundy would leave for any school. He's in a strong conference on the cusp of making the pokes a perennial top 10 team.
Patterson i guess could leave TCU but TCU is expanding their program and just got admitted to the big 12.
Auburn is interesting since the boosters run that school. They hired Chizik who had a losing record at Iowa State. From the surface the boosters at Auburn like to call the shots so bringing in a big name coach that would clash with them would be out of the question. Not sure if they ran off Malzahn since he started gaining more power after his offenses started really clicking. But I don't see a big name coach going to Auburn.
Tennesse on the other hand will shoot for the moon after multiple failed attempts after they got rid of fulmer. Gruden definitely if he is only willing.

What business does Chip Kelly and his gimmicky spread have in the NFL anyways?

Maybe the fact that it translates extremely well to the NFL, as the New England Patriots can attest. Calling the spread gimmicky is putting your head in the sand. It's the way football is going to be played for the next decade-plus, and Chip Kelly is at the cutting edge of that movement.

Patriots no-huddle relies on power of one - Sports - The Boston Globe

How were the Patriots able to run their offense so fast on Sunday against the Broncos? Because they are using a cutting-edge attack in which one word tells every player all they need to know.

He left to run his own program. His wife is crazy, but Malzahn is a genius.

  • Meanwhile, I'd love to see Cutcliffe leave Duke. No way could they properly replace him, and then maybe we can get back to beating the hell out of Duke every season like we're supposed to.
