Tugs, I agree with some of your comments and disagree with other. Yes, we deserved to be a tournament team based on our body of work. Yes, the team will continue to mature and make better decisions. Joe, Brogden, and Mitchell will make huge strides in the off-season. We have a good class coming in. Bennett's style is why we brought him here to Charlottesville. It is what it is. Many of our shots were wide open. They just didn't go down. It's going to happen to the best teams. Learn from it and move on. Personally, I think our team next year will be better than what people are predicting here. Yes, we will be young but I do think we will play into the tournament with a better bench and a huge upside for 2013-2014.

and a few posters try to challenge that assessment but i did not think we would play so poorly. i am disappointed and embarrassed with our play today. also it will be very hard to convice kids to decommit and transfer to our program after watching this game. it hard for uva fans to admit what im about to say but maybe we didnt belong in the tournament. we just had too much adversity to overcome. i want to wish sammy and mike good luck with their future but i am ready for the next chapter. for the guys that are returning use this blowout as motivation and work hard to better your games and get healthy. jontel it is said every year but next year this definetly need to happen without a proven low post player, u have to make jumpers. u are hurting us with your lack of a perimeter game. decision making should be improved also. joe get healthy and continue to improve on your getting to the basket skills. malcolm get healthy and come back ready do be one of the leaders and top scorers. paul i feel like you may get lost with the new recruits so you have to expand your game if you want to get on the court. akil and darion just work on everything and hopefully mike curtis will put mass on your. im tired of these lean big men. to all the new recxruits come in ready to contribute. we need your to overachieve. coach bennett you need to take a second look at your deliberate style and usage of the bench. u should speed it up a little to get easy baskets with our lack of low post players and play more guys. also work on your in game coaching and become more energized during games. i feel like im watching phil jackson. we need energy. ok thats it for this year. thanks for the hard work guys. im glad your never gave up and didnt quit like those other bums

We had too many injuries and too many transfers. Plain and simple. Tony is not changing his style if play so stop harping on that. If you don't like Bennett's system, you might want to follow a different team. How did the last two systems work out for UVA? There is a consistent formula for success at UVA and it starts with tough defense.

This is ridiculous. I hate the style of basketball we play, I don't watch other games with teams that play like us. But I watch ours because its UVA. But by your logic I should go be a fan of some other team based on that? I like Oregons offense in football and don't like pro style so I should just be a fan of them instead? Liking or disliking the system your school runs has nothing to do with being a fan of them or not...

You may not like it, but I hope you realize it is our best shot to win. Why complain about Bennett, when he is pretty much the sole reason we are in this position with the cast of characters and all the injuries we had?
I still question anyone that hates our style of play. Do you not like winning? Do you think we should run like UNC or run and gun like Duke? We don't have the players to do that and we never will. Bennett's style of play has been proven to work at the highest level of basketball and is built on solid fundamentals. Who doesn't like fundamental basketball?

its our best shot to win because he recruited for his system. that doesnt change the fact that in a different system with a different recruiting mindset and given some of the players he inherited when he got here we could be more successful because we wouldnt live and die by the 3. and we wouldnt have to rely on one player to carry us because faster paced systems spread the ball around rather than feeding it through scott and then having the rest of our players jack threes.

I have no problem with most of your posts tugard. But right now the last thing I want to read is see I told you so posts or this guy needs to get better or we suck at this or we need to improve. This coaching staff wants to win and knows basketball better than ANY of us do. I don't see any D-1 coaches here who've taken their team to the elite 8 like Tony has at Washington State. Just give it time and I wouldn't be going off about this.

i dont really see how these classes are going to improve us much. we will always live and die by the three and thats a dangerous way to play. coming in justin anderson is a baller but i just dont see how he'll fit into a style like this. he was orginally committed to a team that scored 77 points per game. we score 60 on a good day. there is a high chance he'll get misused. and to top it off we will have no scottt next year. who will score on the inside? unless you dont think we need inside scoring because youre perfectly ok with hunting threes all game. if he doesnt change the mindset of this team at least a little bit we will be in big trouble next season and you can book that.

huh. i cant say we need to improve. wow, i never said somebody suck. or your reading the post or high. when did i say i told u so. i believe u was the one that said this was an easy win and i said i hope im wrong but i dont see that. than i said i didnt think this was a good matchup but never thought we would be outplayed like this. where is the i told u so or we suck. i think i gave a great assessment about our players and what they should work on. i appreciate u responding but your need to stop makin up shet. as for u ryan it is ok to say u dont like something. if we didnt express opinions this board would be boring. that your opinion and stick by it. i think we should run a little more and play more players but hey that my opinion. people stop jumpin on others for posting an opinion. this is when i think jamie should get involve. if the team was perfect we wouldnt of gotten out as whip today. so voice your opinion my dude

I didn't say it would be an easy matchup at all Tug. I said it would be tough but it could go our way. Coming on here not long after a loss like that and pointing out you were right...that makes it seem that way to me man. Sorry if that's not the case, but its just the way I see it. As for Ryan, he will be proved wrong in the end because he's just looking at the start of a big picture. Tony doesn't just recruit guys who can shoot only...we have had some unfortunate breaks in terms of transferring...we just need to be patient as a fanbase. I'm not jumping on him for his opinion at all, just stating strong disagreement and he's letting one loss get to him too much IMO. Anyway keep doing what you do tugard I do appreciate your opinion because you bring a different viewpoint man, but I was just not ready to here negative...there was enough negative in the outcome today.
