I have to see the quote from the NCAA President, even though he doesn't carry a whole lot of credibility in my book.
The problem with saying something like that is, what if there are kids that go to the same HS with the recruit (or different HSs for that matter) and happen to be UVA fans as well. Even if they do not personally know the recruit in question, how could somebody like that be considered as committing a recruiting violation? They are not employed by the University, nor are they giving money to the school, so how could they be in violation of anything because there is nothing governing the general populace against talking to a kid. So, there is no harm in Tweeting someone if you are not officially affiliated with the organization in question. The same with any middle-aged men that may be (creepily) talking to the kid on Twitter. As long as he doesn't fit into those categories, what's impermissible about that? Not trying to argue with you personally, I just think the head of the NCAA is an idiot, for almost every decision they seem to make, and I don't think he is correct in stating what you are saying he said.

The reason VT closes so well is that the spring game is huge. It is by far our best selling point to recruits this time of year. When you hear 40k fans that number is not fudged. Recruits love that stuff.
As far as commits there is talk of up to 5 possible not going to name names because I do not want to step on the toes of the mods running the VT site. But everybody knows how that goes we hope for 5 and might not get 1. We feel good about a number of the VA guys that we are battling with you guys over but anything is possible.
one last thing I will say.. If Mike London can ever get UVA's spring game as big as VT's he will be damn near impossible to beat on the recruiting trail. He is a very good recruiter.
I hope I answered your question "Chimpo"
To add: I fully expect Hodges to commit saturday.

That's definitely me, and yes, I used to play ball two times a day. Usually lunchtime at Great Neck, and then Adult ball at night...Bayside, PA, Great Nec, anywhere.
I've basically lived my entire life in VB, so if you are here, and played basketball, volleyball, or softball, there's a good chance that we might know each other.
