I love this, Jamie. Keep it coming.
Anyone remember some journalist a couple years ago who said if they had to buy stock in either VT bball or UVA bball they would take VT? Who was that? And, what were they smoking?
So, hear me out...I actually think green is pretty damn good on offense. Its hard for me to give a VT kid credit, but Eric can fill it up. My problem is, he is simply NOT a good teammate. He plays zero defense, his ability to get assists is almost nonexistent, and he flat out shoots the ball to damn much. He would help us on those moments where we have trouble scoring (which happens more often than it should), but we would not be in first place with him on our team. He can score, and that's it. He doesn't make his teammates better on O, and plays no D. So, we agree that the kid can score, but he would have no place in our lineup. his net contribution to the team would be a negative, and Tony wouldn't stand for it. Hell, he's Brogdon minus the defense.

No offense but this isn't correct on green. He is definitely able to be a distributor. He is putting up 25 ppg, 4.5 apg, and 4.2 rpg.
He has had 6 games of 6+ assists while scoring 20+ points and even has a 23 point 10 assist game. His problem is the rest of his team sucks. He could be a very good point guard with more help. He plays selfishly because otherwise the team has no chance. His season is almost identical to SS in his senior year. numbers and style of play and amount he controls the ball.
Coming into tonight he was 4th in the ACC in Assists per game, pretty impressive given the lack of talent around him.
I agree on this; his assist rate and turnover rate are both excellent. This isn't Terrell Stoglin ballhogging going on. Who the hell do you pass to as the Tech point guard? Eddie is the only other consistently good player. Raines, ok, sometimes. And "zero defense" is a little insulting too; his defense seems fine, even if mainly because a guy that quick naturally will play some decent defense. Again it's mainly the rest of the team that sucks on defense. They don't know how to help or rotate or go around screens. That's on Greenberg whose style was to let them play streetball.
In TB'S system he would be a sure fire first team All American... TB is special and every other coach in this league knows it...
How about "Big Money 2"....
