Sorry J.O., you will not be getting a subscription from me next year. I just had a heart attack and died.
exactly what I was thinking...
Ohio State or UNC?
We have no chance.
This class has been pegged as the full-on savior for quite some time. Looks like an epic start is on the horizon!
I must break you!
Godspeed, my friend.
G, you forgot fsu....all noles in this one.....fsu insiders have already said so.
Don't forget Virginia Tech. They are DBU after all. And that Shane guy...what a class act.
It appears that the staff has implemented a strategy of bringing the top prospects in one at a time for the staff to review with each of them how they plan to use them and deal with any questions, etc. Kamara and Moss are scheduled to come in individually for the similar treatment.
I like the strategy.
Dang, you're right. FSU could come up and take him too!!
Personally, I think ODU is a big sleeper in this recruitment.
The Godfather must have gotten to him first. His best friend Kamara wore a VT sweatshirt at one of their Thursday night games two years ago....so they are all good there
Can we get a run-down of quotes that make me excited about Quin "Pretty Ricky" Blanding?
From "The Opening" in Oregon -
"Quin Blanding was one of the very few underclassmen in attendance and he was also one of the top players regardless of class or position while playing safety and cornerback.
In a loaded event, Blanding stood out as much as any on day one. His ability to change direction, transition and stay attached is special for a safety, let alone a 197-pound safety. He also showed an otherworldly break on the ball for his size in one-on-ones, as well as the ability to make a play on the ball without going through receivers.
Former Florida Gator and current Cleveland Brown cornerback Joe Haden, who was Blanding's position coach on Friday, told me that Blanding was a rare talent because of his size, speed, and football IQ. He said that Nike placed Blanding in as a corner and he was one of the best, although he was a safety.
In the 7-on portion of The Opening, Blanding was easily one of the best cover guys on the field regardless of position. JC Shurburtt commented that we may have Blanding underrated at No. 11 in the nation. That's high praise but accurate."
"I want people to know why I'm choosing the school that I'm choosing," said Blanding in December. "I want people to know that I'm picking a school for me and for no one else. And I want recruits to look at that school and wonder why I chose that school so early. I want to help make my class stronger."
Wow huge news.. great sign for us..
Quin Blanding commits to the University of Virginia Cavaliers next Wednesday at 2:30 PM. He then makes the trip to Charlottesville Thursday night for the Hoos' tilt against the Duke Blue Devils. Quin enters the arena to thunderous applause, a standing ovation that lasts several minutes. He is met at center court by Mike London and the mayor of Charlottesville, who announces that University Ave. has been renamed Blanding Ave. in Blanding's honor. He is given a key to the city.
Despite not seeing the court, Blanding mysteriously finishes with 23/12/8 in a UVA victory against Duke. No one can understand, but no questions are asked. The Hoos make the tournament. Shane Beamer wakes up to a horse head in his bed [/scene]
^^ I expect the first two sentences above to actually occur ^^
