From the Ducks beat writer on Twitter:
@DuckFootball: @ilovemipatos yes. Just waiting for confirmation the deal is done.
Even if we lose, it should help our BCS at-large odds in the off-chance we don't win the ACC Championship...
This is one case where I feel totally comfortable blasting Littlepage / Oliver. We need to learn to crawl before we can walk.
Yep. Can't say I think much of the idea. Not what we need we BYU already on the OOC and a stiff ACC schedule. I don't know what it is with Oliver and his west coast obsession.
I think it's awesome. Id much rather take our shot vs a big boy football program than watch us vs Toledo.
It's funny because my friend prefaced we were playing Oregon with "Holy Toledo."
This game is going to be sweet. The trip to Eugene is going to be sweet. We may get outscored by 215 points but at least we all know Mike London had the following exchange with John Oliver when he was told about this game.

I like it b/c they run the spread hurry up O better than anyone. When we play Clemson, UNC, etc. afterward, they will look like they are going in slow motion.
So incredibly stupid. Whatbif this loss is the difference between 5 and 6 wins and a bowl berth?
Then at least we get to quack at Mr. Ducksworth.
And how awesome is it we can sell trips to UCLA/Stanford/Oregon to those 2014 recruits.
Hard to imagine what we are doing here other than choosing an opponent who will fill the stands but pose a limited recruiting threat. Otherwise, I can't think of a team we are less ready to play than the Ducks.
Don't think we would stand a shot against Team Iceland either.
This thread is as bad as Tu's wanting the NIT instead on the NCAA.
I love this idea. We need better non-conference scheduling. This makes it an attractive game, for sure. I'm in!
You are trying to find too much fault with Oliver. How about we are trying to schedule great football team? I think it's great. For all those opposed, Iron sharpens Iron. Let's get it done.
Down-vote me all you want, but you guys are a bunch of nancies. We get a chance to play a perennial BCS bowl team on our home turf and you guys are upset about it? Really? Get over yourselves and stop having this inferiority complex about your team.
September 7th for the Oregon game. Haven't heard anything about a return trip.
I don't disagree that this will almost surely be a loss, but, man alive, imagine if we somehow pull out a win!

It will be early in a new regime for the Ducks. I like this game even though we will be heavy dogs at home. Hell it is certainly better than 2010 when we had two 1AA teams.
I must break you!
And don't forget, we are replacing this with a road game vs a team with sanctions. Absolutely nothing to gain from playing PSU.
Nobody to blame but ourselves for scheduling this game. This is about trying to selling tickets and put fannies in the seats. I'm sure the admin has been hearing plenty of complaints about scheduling cupcakes and nobody wanting to come see the games.
Count me as part of the crowd excited about the game and looking forward to seeing what we can do against them. Will be a fascinating early test for Tenuta's defensive attacking scheme.
