I'm eating "Buzzard" because I don't think "crow" is quite big enough in this case.
I post on several boards and converse with folks on other types of forums so I don't remember what I posted here regarding my thoughts on Teven but I do know that I have thought that he wouldn't be able to help us. I've been marinating the "bird" for several games waiting to see how he held up against better competition but I think I've seen enough to be able to agree that he is going to help us. If Teven can just give us some solid minutes in support of Bub he will have exceeded my expectations and he is appearing to be able to do more than that.
I've read a number of theories as to why the thought was so widespread that Teven wasn't going to be able to help the team, but there can be no excuses, at least I'm not accepting any for my own wrongness.
I was wrong, I am very, very pleased to be wrong because this is good news for the program.
Anyone know what sauce goes good with Buzzard?
hot sauce is good on everything
Upvote, I expressed the same opinion and am pleased to say he has proved me wrong.
A little humble pie for desert maybe??
Sounds like the perfect menu!!
Just very glad that he is working out for us. Teven being able to help us at PG not only helps us this year but also with the transition into next season when Bub has completed his eligibility.
Props to you Galileo. +1.
I was pleasantly surprised as well
He ran the team
Try some of my "Atkins will never develop a post move" sauce and wash it down with a bottle of "Mitchell will kill us from the line" beer.
I think one thing is becoming very clear, our staff does a very good job of developing big guys to get the most out of their talent. I've screamed for years that no basketball player 6'8" or taller should lack a good jump hook. Seems like our staff agrees with me.
Probably Sweet Baby Rays if it tastes like BBQ chicken
I had doubts about Teven, but they weren't related to his game. I had heard some things concerning his maturity and relationship with teammates, but now it's obvious that all of those issues (if they were even really ever issues) have been resolved. Oh, and he can ball too.
Teven is definitely showing he has some good ball skills. But the further good news is he can shoot the rock pretty well, both from 3-point land and at the free throw line. Plus he's got great athleticism and quickness. I remember reading somewhere that as a high school football player he ran a 4.4 40 and has a 40'' vertical. Even if these specs are hyped a bit (let's say he has 4.5 speed and a 35" vertical), he appears to have a great all round game and the physical abilities that some of our recent PG's have lacked (e.g. Bub and Sammy).
I'm looking forward to Teven draining open shots that Bub hasn't shown the ability to do. Having another good shooter on the floor will help stretch opposing defenses creating space for our other players. I've linked a DD article from 2011 that I had originally read but enjoyed reading again now knowing we may have a player in Teven.

Now i thought teven was goin to help but when bennett was recruiting transfer point guards and new point guards very hard made me say something is up. Than we signed two point guards and barnette. I will say he havent played against elite point guards but he is doing very good for a freshman and point guard competition next yr with two recruits and a hedlthy malcolm is gooin to b fierce.
Yeah, that went from a position of great worry to a deep position of talent pretty quick, didn't it?
Really excited about Teven Jones. Kid looks like a major steal.
