vtfan - you guys always seem to close well during the spring game weekend. what is the buzz on possible commits? if hodges is attending, i would think you guys are hopeful/expecting him to pull the trigger. any others you guys are feeling good about?
Check this out... obviously this is never going to be enforced.
The reason VT closes so well is that the spring game is huge. It is by far our best selling point to recruits this time of year. When you hear 40k fans that number is not fudged. Recruits love that stuff.
As far as commits there is talk of up to 5 possible not going to name names because I do not want to step on the toes of the mods running the VT site. But everybody knows how that goes we hope for 5 and might not get 1. We feel good about a number of the VA guys that we are battling with you guys over but anything is possible.
one last thing I will say.. If Mike London can ever get UVA's spring game as big as VT's he will be damn near impossible to beat on the recruiting trail. He is a very good recruiter.
I hope I answered your question "Chimpo"
To add: I fully expect Hodges to commit saturday.

Another reasonable post, you sure you are a Hokie fan? :)
I agree with you on Bucky..he has been a silent commit for a long time..anything other than him becoming a Hokie would be a MAJOR upset
Maybe there will come a time when UVa's spring game has a greater turnout, but VT has a natural advantage there. If the choices were checking out the spring lamb sale, tuning the sport tractor for pulling season, sharpening the sickle mower for the first cutting of hay season, or pulling one's jumbo set of keys, goofy Hokie wig, and beat up luchbox that Bud Foster once puked in out of the draw to go check out the Hokie's spring football game, is there really a choice?
So if youre not a booster, but then tweet at a recruit, you become a booster. But you cant violate recruiting rules unless youre a booster, so the first tweet is ok? Lol
Yes i'm sure.. But as ive stated I see no reason in arguing over stuff that neither side is going to agree on. Might as well have it civilized and actually talk like adults.
Dude your the most legit VT fan ever.
Don't get to aroused....he still talks his fair amount of junk on hokiepoop. We all do around our own though
I must break you!
Just gotta know when to shut it off.
I couldn't find much of about it but how did G. Lambert look at your spring game? When do you guys see him taking over the QB spot?
Lets get him!!!!
He did pretty good for a young dude, hel def be the guy after Rocco is gone unless Watford steps it up and starts for his senior year. Lambert is gona be good.
I know it was stated before but Watford could have really used a R/S year.
... and your fiance is a VT fan? :-)
We used to play a few times a week with or vs one another. I haven't played BBall in 10 or so years but still play Softball and Volleyball. Are you playing Softball this spring?
Definitely a good call there! And, he seems to have enough sense to marry a great one, too, so it's a win all around.
Yep, I play softball in VB on Tuesdays. Also play (sometimes) in Norfolk on Wednesdays. And, I play Basketball at the VB Fieldhouse on Fridays.
I play softball on Thursdays in VB. I'm sure we'll catch up at some point. I'll say hi, you'll know me.
Man this is a breath of fresh air. I don't post on any other site because of all the bickering. 247 has got things right
Is that the CBBT in your avatar photo?
That is the popular sentiment here too, and I disagree with it.
We are already backloaded with young QB's. While I do think Watford is talented and a strong candidate to start at some point, I don't think it's worth further clogging up the younger QB ranks. I hope our QB situation will look like this in 2013:
Rocco -- Sr.
Watford -- Jr.
Lambert -- So.
Johns -- Rs. Fr.
Marshall/Cutler -- Fr.
A strong argument can be made for red-shirting Lambert, but I'd counter by saying that if Caleb Henderson is as highly-touted and high on the 'Hoos as he seems, we can keep Lambert moving and keep our spacing intact. Lambert would still have a chance to beat out Watford and be The Man for 2 years after Rocco, and we could still maintain a steady stream of talented QB's.
