Riddle me this, message board brothers (and sister?):
1) If you were Mike London / Jon Oliver / Craig Littlepage, which of the [realistic] DC candidates would you hire, and why?
2) Which of the candidates would you steer away from, and why?
3) What kind of defensive style/system/scheme would you be looking to install?
Who are our "realistic" choices?

Assuming Tenuta is our primary target, I'm not real enthused right now if I'm the one making the hire. For starters, based on his resume, the guy has been all over the map and never really shown any signs of taking his career to the next level. If that's my first choice, I'm not sure I really want to see whoever elses name is on our list. I do prefer his style of play compared to what re run now, but imo, I see this as a lateral move at best.
+1, that's exactly my opinion as well.
I went back and looked at his defense at GT (Tenuta) and statistically they werent that impressive. they consistently ranked 3-5 in the ACC, and if we are honest, thats not anything jaw dropping. I do like the aggresiveness but there is more to D than just sending the house every play. I am concerned as well as UVA225 said that if he is at the top of our list I am scratching my head on who the others are. I know this doesnt answer your question but I just havent been sold on him from the start. It wasnt like NCST's D was that impressive so why are we so gung ho on hiring their LB coach?
Damn , I hate a pop quiz on Monday's .
The only way to justify the firing of Reid is to make a homerun hire. I'm not sure Tenuta fits that bill. If Reid retired, I wouldn't have a problem with it but looking at statistics, I just don't see I huge difference in the long run. Yes we may get more turnovers (we would have with Reid anyway once his players got more experience) but blitzing constantly has it's own risks. I see us giving up about the same average of points per game. My major question is why Tenuta was the linebacker coach at NC State and not the DC?
