From RTD's Mike Barber:
MT @RTD_MikeBarber: VT TB Michael Holmes being held at county jail on 2 counts simple assault, 1 count malicious wounding. No bail. #Hokies
I'm sure Jimmy Turk is already talking the prosecutor down to a misdemeanor so Holmes can suit up this fall.
They'll miss him when he has to sit out the first series of their first game.
Yes, my brother told me about this thirty min ago lol
"Deep trouble" is always relative.
What a loser. That's pathetic.
Don't worry, I think it was just a flesh wound. Even though he already had some trouble in HS, I would imagine the Hokies will find a way to keep him on the team, especially if Drew Harris doesn't qualify.
Yeah he'll be good for 11 rushes for 10 yard per game...spring him!
Wonder how Trey Edmunds and JC are feeling about there decision making processes about now?
Wah-hoo-wah, wah-hoo-wah! Uni-v, Virginia!
Hoo-rah-ray, hoo-rah-ray, ray, ray--U-Va!
What did Trey and JC decide to do?
I still hurt over losing Edmunds. I really wanted him as a linebacker at UVA.
What's the over and under on how many days before this is busted down to a misdemeanor?
Not a surprise here, he got away with A LOT while at H'burg, people have no idea. It was just a matter of time before it caught up with him.
Holmes' mom gives an explanation in the comments section. I can't blame her for defending her child.
Tonya Brandon vs Tugard in a spelling contest....who ya got?

I`m guessing he was apprehended 3.1 yards after he started his getaway,
Now, that's funny
That's too bad for him. Not sure what anyone else has heard, but he's a good kid--any UVA-Tech bias out the window for me in this matter. Never heard anything bad about Holmes as was thrown out earlier in this post. Don't know him personally or his family, but my wife's a teacher and knows several faculty at HHS and I can tell you that everyone genuinely liked this kid during his time at HHS. Not really the star athlete type you would imagine having been the target of local media attention since the 10th grade.
I will most certainly wait to hear more info than a tweet to pass any judgement here. Hope it's found that he was indeed acting in some sort of self-defense because I for one, and many in this town hope he is successful both on and off the field. He is a kid, by all accounts I've ever heard, who has worked hard and done things the right way, as he was under some extra scrutiny following in the footsteps of Alex Owah at HHS whom had all the talent in the world, but couldn't stay out of trouble and keep himself on the field (some of you may be confusing the two here--(Owah was the UVA commit who lost his scholarship during his SR season after being part of a robbery, then committed to UConn to end up not qualifying, prepped a yr at Hargrave MA, then was a back-up at E. Carolina and looked to be the starter going into his Soph season but was then deemed academically ineligble and left school) I would add to the Owah saga that if you were to meet him in person you would see he's actually a nice dude who will admit he made some mistakes as a 17-20 yr old; not at all the villain thug some media outlets made him out to be.
Just remember that even if they wear Hokie orange and maroon (whom I hate as much as the next guy) for the most part these are still 18, 19 yr old kids we are talking about and that generally they are nice kids who have their heads on pretty straight, and even those kids sometimes do dumb things without thinking of the consequences. Lord knows we should all understand that, for proof most of us need only to look into the mirror.
I was not "throwing out" something in that statement, I have facts but will not go into them in any depth.
I must break you!
Just so you know, I have met the kid, several times, and yes, he was very polite when I spoke to him. I have nothing against him whatsoever, hokie or not, but I also know what I know. I understand he is a young man, and he has made mistakes like many of us have, especially at that age and even older, all I was saying is that it did not surprise me that he got in trouble, and hopefully it was in self defense or whatever, because I do actually like the kid. Maybe I said to much and should have left it alone, or just at ," No surprise here', that was my bad.
His 18 year old brother was arrested a couple of months ago for raping of a 15 year old. He, also, is a student at HHS. Did you hear about this?
A high school senior football player was arrested on charges of raping a 15-year-old girl. Both police and the schools' superintendent are concerned about this case. They said they hope parents will now pay more attention to what their kids are doing.

His mom getting trolled by Hokie 'supporters' calling him a bust and saying it's good for the program so they can replace him with a good RB.
