Things worked out for us but certainly I don't think Bennett's late game coaching has been stellar. Coaches don't always become coaches knowing everything. There is a learning process and this is an area where Bennett has an opportunity to improve.
I would also question how the team, handled Maryland's press as well but that's another rant.
However, on the other side of the equation, the defense Bennett has taught the team kept UVA in the game when the offense truly was stinking up the joint, the team remained patient and scrapped its way back in the game. Bennett deserves some credit for that.

It wasn't just the turnovers but for most of the first half they were able to speed up the game, something very few teams have been able to do. Bennett hasn't been perfect, but I would argue that he has squeezed everything possible out of this team considering the talent and injuries.

There's more to dealing with a press than avoiding turnovers. That's not very insightful.
Maryland's press was designed to prevent us from getting our half court offense started until a significant amount of time ran off the clock. That meant we had less time to run our offense and get a good shot. I'd say their strategy worked well.
We never took advantage of their extended defense to attack and get open looks at the basket. That would have been what I refer to as a successful way to counter their strategy.
Knee jerk reactions whenever someone is questioning Bennett doesn't demonstrate a lot of insight. As I said before, no coach is born knowing everything. All of them go through a learning process and this is an area for Bennett to improve.
