Post them here....havent done a lot of digging yet, but here is one to start...
I love that it was off the screen and he got the shot fake and attacked the lane, this obviously was him as a freshman, I like the athleticism I see, and to think of him sitting out a year and praciting hard and working with JA, Mitchell, etc... will only make him better...
South Carolina Men's Basketball freshman Anthony Gill dunks over Wofford's Aerris Smith en route to a 57-45 win on December 28, 2011. ***South Carolina Athletics. All rights reserved. If you like it, great! Share it, but PLEASE DO NOT CLIP IT OR RE-PURPOSE ANY FOOTAGE FOR USE IN OTHER VIDEOS.***
http://www.youtube.com/v/cNxW6a1i0xcThe linked game is South Carolina vs. Wofford, from December 28th Gill
is #13:
(:09) Gets the ball in the low post, 1 dribble, feeds Lekeem Jackson for
the flush. In looking through several clips of Gill, it becomes apparent
that he has good court vision and a proclivity for looking for open
teammates. As a freshman, he averaged 1.1 assists/game, which
compares favorably to Mike Scott, a terrific passer out of the post, who
had .5 APG his 1st year and 1.2 APG this last season.
(:22) Defender overplays him outside the arc, 2 dribbles into the lane,
elevates over the defender, and slams it home with his right (off) hand.
In looking through his footage, I saw Gill start from outside the arc and
take it hard to the hole several times. Joe started doing this a bit this
year, and Malcolm showed some ability to drive as well, but this ability
is definitely an ingredient we’ve been missing the last few years.
(2:19) Drives to just outside the lane and has a nice dish to Malik Cooke
who finds Jackson down low for the finish. I’ve seen several instances
where Gill had nice drives and dishes, and I think that he’d work really
well with Tobey and JA as a facilitator.
(2:54) Head fake outside the arc, drives to the lane and draws three
defenders, kicks it out to Damien Leonard, who drains the 3 ball. I could
see the same happening with Joe, Paul, Evan, or any of our other
present a future long ballers.
South Carolina Men's Basketball collected a 57-45 win against in-state foe Wofford at Colonial Life Arena on Dec. 28. Bruce Ellington scored a season high 17 points behind a 5-for-6 effort from beyond the arc to pace the Gamecocks. http://www.youtube.com/v/T8nhS5kEfHYThe linked game is South Carolina vs. SE Louisiana, from December
21st:
(1:19) Gets UP for the left handed swat. Gill didn’t have huge block
stats on the year (.3/game), but he definitely has a long wingspan and
leaping ability and thus should be a disruptive force in the lane.
(1:46) Smooth form on the 3-point shot and nothing but net. Yes, Gill
has range that extends behind the arc. He shot .9 3-pointers a game and
connected on 39.3% on them. That means that if you’re a defender, pick
your poison: Give him room, and he can drain the 3. Play him tight, and
he can take it past you.
(2:05) Which is exactly what happened here. Gill gets the ball outside
the arc. The defender flashes out on him, he takes two dribbles into the
lane, does a jump step, and slams it home with 2 hands.
(2:23) Another 3-pointer, this time getting the shooter’s roll.
(2:56) Gets the ball in the low post, strong spin move draws the
defender off of R.J. Slawson, and Gill feeds the slashing Slawson, who
gets the layup.
(3:20) Finds a seam in the defense, gets the ball down low for the easy
2.
