The biggest mess with the voting involves the state of Florida. The papers in Florida do not let the writers there vote to avoid showing a bias towards the athletes they cover (or they don't want to pay the crazy dues that are owed annually to vote). Some of the writers that vote caught a game or three all season. The coaches should vote in every ACC sport and if you want to have a second award for the writers then add that as well. Sportswriters can not tell you who the best left guard in the league is in football and location impacts the voting. A former radio personality would vote for Al Groh for Coach of the Year to get on his good side. The whole thing is a mess.
