  • We still play the Twerps? I suggest napalming that dump on the way out

  • Wow, if I was London and knew I needed to make a bowl game next year, I'd be nervous about that schedule.

  • Just our luck we get Clemson instead of Wake. All the more reason to schedule an easier game if, in fact, PSU drops out.

  • very tough schedule...anyone want to make some predictions. Looking at this I see us as having a hard time making a bowl unless we make major major improvements. Here's how I see it shaking out

    Clemson-L
    Duke-W (close)
GT- toss up (this game is impossible to predict, their D looked much improved and it all comes down to how well we prepare)
    VT- L
    Maryland-W
    Miami-L
    UNC-L
    Pitt-W
    VMI-W
Penn State- Toss up (depends on if O brien stays, they should have beat us last year and it will be an away game)
    Ball State- W

Thats 5 wins, 2 tossups and 4 losses IMO. Obviously a lot can change but to make it to a bowl London is going to have to rely on more than talent, hes going to have to coach the guys up. This is the type of schedule that I think would actually deserve some excuses if the results arent there, unfortunately I think London is out of excuses at this point and will simply have to find a way to win. What do you all think?

  • There's also BYU at home. I don't know much about them, but they did make a bowl. Might be another for the tossup category.

agreed, and honestly, I was being kind by not putting a few more of our W's in the tossup column based off last year.

I'm not sure we can count VT as an automatic loss anymore. I don't see them improving from last year that much especially offensively. Everybody always predicts a Miami loss but London is 3-0 against them. Penn State will be awful next year but I agree that if O'brien stays, they will be tough. I see it as 5 wins, 5 toss-ups, and 2 losses (Clemson and UNC).

Is that not par for the course. These hokies brag about their ten win seasons. For many years Weaver and Company made no apologies about their weak scheduling. They loaded up on cupcakes year after year to build a perception that they were somehow elite. Then when they would "finally" play
The elite teams they were exposed and taken to the woodshed.

Come on G. We didn't play Clemson or FSU last season.

It isn't about any one season. The Hokies would normally have played FSU again this year for their two years in the rotation, just like we have. Somehow they again got out of it.

Are you aware that the hokies have only played FSU 3 times in the regular season in 10 years? We have played FSU 6 times in the same span.
