Hill focused on future, not past

Will Hill has come to grips that one topic will remain a popular issue throughout the 2012 season. What if the previous coaching staff had redshirted him?

    • Jay do you know how many snaps Hill played from scrimmage as a true soph?

    • I wonder if we are saying the same thing in 4 years concerning Michael Moore. I just don't see the need to rush him into it if he needs to mature more physically. From all reports he's advanced technically, but could use a yr to mature physically. Hope Shawn keeps his Daddy hat on for this one

Actually hoojimmy, Michael Moore is our most ready, purely from a physical standpoint, of any of our incoming DL players. He is a monster already, and he will more than likely play, and cause havoc this year.

      From his VAsports.com bio:

2010 - Played in 11 of Virginia's 12 games ... did not play at USC ... lined up for 92 plays on defense and 49 on special teams ... notched five tackles ... broke up one pass and registered 1.5 sacks ... registerd first career sack at Boston College ... tallied a half sack of Virginia Tech QB Tyrod Taylor in season finale ... won the Cavalier Academic Achievement Award

Moore is a man for sure but I can envision Trent Corney running over people like a wrecking ball right from the get go.

    • I hope you are right. He has all of the tools to be a beast He just need t pick p the speed of the game (big leap coming from Canadian HS FB), as well as the offese. He could be athreat with the ballin his hands, or just scare the ever loving $hit out of DBs ut on the edge.

    • Thanks HooPerk.

Your data confirms what I have always thought: the first non redshirt was a terrible decision. But the second was also a bad one: 12 plays a game, 4 of which are on the FG block team is not a great use of a true sophmore's eligibility, imo.

Let's all hope that Hill's final year is so huge as to make both non redshirt years irrelevant as he heads to the NFL as a top 3 rounds pick.

    • I don't think we have the depth yet to redshirt the Moore(s), 2011 was our first deep quality class in years

    • Let me re word this, does anyone think Eli should shirt this year due to his lack of weight or will his speed make up for it?

Tend to agree. As painful as it may seem, we'll have numerous freshman on the field again to get things on track.

PG.... I'm broke as a mofo, but I would still bet Eli is on the field this year.
